merges ideas by Rina Rolli and Tiziano Schürch since 2019. They continue to join forces with others, collaborating on projects in and around Zurich, Ticino, and Barcelona. In their practice, they take inspiration from the location at hand, as they believe that architecture must be born and find its reason to exist starting from the environment in which it is inserted. By learning from the social-historical background of a place, clues from the past can be found and transformed into newly defining characteristics. This allows them to create punctual interventions which base on the specificity of a place, juggling between the urban scale and the minute detail.

Rina Rolli graduated from ETH with an MSc in Architecture. In 2019 she was selected with her partners to exhibit at the XII International Architecture Biennale of São Paulo. She worked at 2A+P/A architects in Rome and at Studio Sito architects in Zurich. She is currently working as a teaching assistant at the chair of Jan de Vylder at ETH Zurich. Furthermore, she collaborates with Noël Picco in the collective Piccolli, where they share the passion of subverting industrial products in order to translate them into unusual furniture pieces.

Tiziano Schürch graduated from ETH with an MSc in Architecture. In 2018 he became an assistant professor at UPC-ETSAB (Barcelona) where he founded the architecture research studio extraordinary_ordinary. In the same year, he joined the archeological mission of Qasr Shemamok in Mosul, Iraq. He designed several exhibitions including the Catalan Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale, the exhibition “Inhabiting the Mediterranean” at the IVAM Valencia, the exhibitions “Picasso and the Artist’s Jewellery” and “Picasso, the Photographer’s Gaze” at the Museo Picasso of Barcelona. Currently, he is pursuing a MAS in Spatial Planning at ETH Zurich.
